Kim Brayman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. She has been in several juried exhibitions, including the Edmonds and Shoreline Art Festivals, EAFA Exhibits and the Hanson Scott Gallery in Seattle. The City of Shoreline and the Swedish Cancer Center in Edmonds have her paintings on display in their permanent collections. She is represented in a variety of places at various times. Kim spent nine years teaching art classes at Maplewood K-8. She has also taught drawing and beginning acrylic painting to adults at the Cole Gallery in Edmonds and kids' camps at the Schack Art Gallery in Everett as well as in the Edmonds School District via EAFA grants for visual arts in the schools.

Kim’s first success as an artist was the representation of flowers at the age of 8. She has been painting and drawing them in many different mediums ever since. As a teacher, Kim has studied and practiced every medium she could get her hands on. This has influenced the way she paints on canvas, synthesizing various materials, techniques and aesthetics. She delights in the botanical, organic shape and line, and color. Most of her painted surfaces are highly textured mixed media and explore the interaction between texture, color, shape and line to create a mood and convey a theme with her subjects. Her paintings are expressive representations of beauty, joyful ambiance and relationship.

Quality is important to her and every work of art is done with a high level of attention to detail and quality materials. All paintings are on gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides. You can find more of her work at Laughing Bird Art on Facebook.
